Exosomes are small vesicles (30–150 nm) secreted by cells, containing RNA and proteins, and are abundantly present in body fluids such as blood, saliva, urine, and milk. They are considered to act as intercellular messengers, transmitting effectors or signaling molecules between specific cells.
