Exosomes are small vesicles (30–150 nm) secreted by cells, containing RNA and proteins, and are abundantly found in various body fluids such as blood, saliva, urine, and milk. They are considered to act as intercellular messengers, transmitting effectors or signaling molecules between specific cells. However, their structure, molecular composition, and biological pathways remain incompletely understood.
For studying the biological functions of exosomes, it is essential to isolate intact and high-purity vesicle particles. Traditional ultracentrifugation methods are time-consuming, require expensive equipment, and are technically demanding.
The Exosome Extraction and Purification Kit developed by Umibio has been optimized for exosome isolation from cell culture supernatants. Combined with a dedicated purification and filtration system, the kit enables rapid and efficient recovery of high-purity exosomes.
The isolated exosomes are suitable for various downstream applications, including:
- Transmission Electron Microscopy (TEM)
- Nanoparticle Tracking Analysis (NTA)
- Nucleic acid and protein analysis
- Cellular studies
- Animal experiments
